Scouts having a hard time ice hiking at Old Mans Cave in Hocking Hills Ohio.

I have been winter hiking at hocking Hills in Ohio for many years and believe me the ice formations are beautiful! But you have to remember that ice melts, and when it refreezes on the trails below it can be almost impossible to stay on your feet. On this day Lori Wehner and i went ice hiking at Old Mans Cave, I brought along my ice spikes, a pair for me and a pair for Lori. We started out on the UpperFalls trail and came around and down until we were standing infront of UpperFalls. While taking shots there I seen a boy Scout Troop (they were to big to be cub Scouts) walk into the area. I could see that they were not well equiped for this kind of field trip. As Lori and I went on to the area called Devils Bathtub, the Scout Troop came hiking through also. As we were taking photos one of them fell, HARD!!! I felt so sorry for this little guy! I didnt take this video to get anyone in trouble, I took it to show what can happen if your not prepared for hiking the trails in Hocking Hills in winter. Think safety first! Yes a walking stick is fine, but a walking stick wont keep you from slipping. Ice spikes are the best investment I ever made to keep me safe, and get my photos. I sure hope that little guy was ok! I know he had to feel it the next day. Stay safe out there, and plan ahead. ;)
